Last weekend, I binge watched a documentary
about Japan on Netflix.
Totally worth it by the way!
In episode three, the host Joanna Lumley
brought us to Kagoshima (south of Japan),
well known for its active volcano.
Sakurajima.
1117m (equivalent to 338 storey building)
The volcano smokes constantly and
minor eruptions often take place
multiple times per day.
I did a poll on my IGS and 83% refuse to
stay near the volcano.
Will you?
This is where it gets interesting.
Despite the volcano, more than 5000 people
live at the foot of Sakurajima to enjoy the
benefits of this volcanic area’s extremely
rich soil.
Results: Mammoth radishes!
Imagine the size of a head.
That’s the average size of their radish!
Some even grew to 27kg!!
That’s five bags of rice by the way.
Because of the volcano, Kagoshima has also
became a popular destination for tourists
to enjoy unique sand baths and seaside
onsen.
Now to the main point of this email.
The bigger your challenge.
The bigger your reward.
It’s the same with games.
The bigger the bad guy (think dragons),
the bigger the reward (think magic items).
So instead of focusing on how big your
challenge currently is, focus on how BIG
your reward is going to be!
If I hadn’t gotten sidelined at the start of my
career, I won’t have gotten into social media.
But now because I am so active on
social media, I get to travel the world
to teach.
If I hadn’t gotten into a million debt,
I won’t have the resilience and drive
to make five times more in my current
businesses.
If I hadn’t nearly lost my dad to a heart attack,
I won’t have made so much effort today to
spend time with him and my mum.
Every challenge is a reward in disguise.
So instead of wishing for the challenge to
go away, wish for yourself to be stronger
and better.
Right behind your volcano of challenge
is your well-deserved reward!
