😨 Shame on you!

Pretty harsh an email subject don’t you think? But that was what went on my mind during my first attempt at Hydrodash. It is Singapore’s first floating obstacle course. See picture below.

Their tagline: Dash. Slide. Leap. Repeat. But I ended up crawling, slipping and falling. Repeat. It’s ok if everyone crawls, slips and falls. But somehow the people that were in Hydrodash that day were either Olympic gymnasts or just born with monkey agility and balance. And kids – they can be mean. They laughed at me each time I fall. At least the adults have the decency to laugh behind my back. As you can imagine, I got so stressed out that I didn’t enjoy Hydrodash at all. Then last Saturday, I was persuaded by my friend to give Hydrodash a second try. To my surprise, I enjoyed myself so much more. Why? Here’s my analysis. 1. I have done this before. 2. I wasn’t too concerned about people laughing at me when I fall. 3. I am mentally prepared to fall. And come to think about it, navigating Hydrodash isn’t too different from navigating through life, don’t you think?

Life gets easier with experience. Also less stressed when you ignore other people’s opinion about you. And definitely a lot more fun when you are totally ok to fail. In fact, it is part of the fun! So cheer up. Enjoy life’s obstacle course! Your #1 fan, Eric Feng

STOP CARING ABOUT LIKES - Eric Feng.jpg

STOP CARING ABOUT THE LIKES, SHARES AND VIEWS...

These are just fruits.

If a farmer wants his tree to bear fruits, he does not focus on the fruits. He focus on the soil, the water and the sun.

Likewise if you want your social media tree to bear fruits (likes, shares, views), focus on the soil, the water and the sun.
