WHO HAVE YOU BEEN HANGING OUT?

I’m sure you know by now that you are the average of the five people you hang out with the most.

Question is have you put this powerful revelation at work?

If yes, good for you! Get ready to enjoy the fruits of your labor!

If no, why?

It doesn’t have to be complicated. Start by meeting one person that you like to learn from every week.

Better yet, schedule a learning meal. It could be breakfast, tea, lunch or dinner.

The key is to set an hour every week to meet a person who inspires you. Perhaps he or she has mastered a skill you like to learn. Or he or she is enjoying a certain success that you desire.

Write down their names and make it a point to arrange catch up, one per week.

They may not say yes to your invite but who cares, maybe it isn’t time yet. Don’t take it personally, move on to the next person.

Prepare questions in advance to ask the person.

Here are some of my favourites:

1. What is an item you have made bought (under $100) that has made a positive difference to you?

2. What have you stopped doing that has significantly improved the quality of your life?

3. Was there one lesson you learned or an action you took that made all the difference this year?

Create your own questions too.

Remember to take notes after the meeting and turn your learnings into immediate action.

Repeat every week.

I dare say you’ll start witnessing breakthroughs in your life a month from now. Your energy will spike upwards and you’ll be so much more engaged in life.
